Panix V-Colo Plan Features, Options, and Prices
Check out our new Supersized LV-Colos

Standard Features
All V-Colo packages come with these features:
- Your choice of OS
- Easy-to-use Web Control Panel for controlling your virtual hardware, modifying your account info, paying bills, etc.
- One IP address
- Disk storage on mirrored Fiber-Channel disk arrays, so:
- single-disk failures won't kill your server
- total server hardware failure can be recovered from in minutes, not hours
- performance is superior to the more common consumer-grade SATA disks
- Free nightly backup of your disk (details in this FAQ)
- DNS for up to 100 domains
- Reboot your server over the Internet using our console server
- Console access via ssh to our console server
- Guaranteed minimum CPU time - approximately 100MHz Pentium-equivalent per 360MB RAM (of course, you'll often have much more than that available, depending on what others are doing)
- Plenty of expandability, with our Add-Ons
The plans below offer flexibility and economic pricing. If none of these suits, we can put together a Custom Package for you.
If you need help choosing a plan or deciding what features you need, please feel free to ask. And if you're a Panix Unix shell subscriber, try one of the panix local newsgroups.

- With this plan, you can have a maximum of 3 IP addresses.
- You may choose a 10% subscription price discount or a 50% disk space bonus with your annual prepaid account.
- Rsync backups are free, and usually come pre-configured, but you can disable them if you choose. That's usually a bad idea, since we keep no other backups of your data, unless you pay for tape archiving.

Notes:
- Some 32-bit OSes will not be able to use more than 4GB of RAM. You may have to use a 64-bit OS to make use of all the RAM in your V-Colo. The list of OSes with 64-bit support is here.
Add-ons
All V-Colo packages can be customized with add-ons, which come in standard and bulk sizes. You can purchase any number of either size. All prices are per month. If you prepay for one year, you'll receive a 10% discount.
Standard Bulk IP Addresses: $1/address $10/12 addresses Disk Space: $2/GByte $8/5 GBytes RAM: $5/64 MBytes $18/256 MBytes Transfers: $.40/GByte $8/25 GBytes Tape backup: 25% of your base V-C price + 25% price of any additional disk space
Custom packages
Need something larger? Need a different set of features? Virtuality or Reality? Please ask us about package deals on larger V-Colos.
Please ask us to price out a custom package for you. Colocate your own server with us. If you'd like, we'll even build the machine for you and do the initial install. Just ask us.
Operating Systems
You may choose any operating system distribution from the following list. Don't hesitate to ask us to add a new distribution to it. We will probably be able to accomodate most reasonable requests. And if you don't ask for what you want, we won't know there's a demand for it.
We also expect to add Windows later this year.
