Subject: Change of wording on Panix statements Date: Mon, Apr 07 2003 -- 5:28 PM Posted by: Mara's Staff Account
You will note a change in the due date as it appears on your invoice (unless your main account's email address is '@access.net', in which case your statements already show the correct due date).
We are correcting a long-standing mis-statement in our billing. What was labeled as the "due date" is actually the date when we begin "past due" processing.
The correct due date has always been indicated on our bills. Our fees (except for a few items, like transfer and disk charges) have always been payable in advance, and so our bills have always said: Statement covers subscription fees for the period beginning This wasn't clear, however, and the "due date" was clearly mistaken.
As of April 8, the "Due Date" on bills will correctly reflect the actual due date, and not the expiry of our billing system's internal delay on past-due collection. This change does not affect the date at which your payment is actually due, it just corrects an error and brings the two parts of the bill into agreement.
