Panix - Public Access Networks Corporation
Panix is looking for a programmer/sysadmin for our ever-expanding network.

You should have all of these:

Most importantly, you need genuine enthusiasm for your work.

The more of these you know, the better:

Our office is generally informal. If you eat sushi, juggle, rollerblade, occasionally act silly, or have a high tolerance for those who do, you'll fit right in. Our dress code is flexible- jeans are the company uniform but even tie & jacket would be OK if you had an excuse. Gorilla suit not required.

The job is nominally 40 hours a week, but... this isn't a job, it's an adventure, so expect to be logged in at odd hours from time to time. Hours must be generally regular and we will ask you to share 24x7 pager responsibilities.

You'll need to be able to organize yourself and get things done without constant supervision. Your ability to integrate yourself into a closely-knit staff is important, and you will be in a relatively high-visibility position as far as our thousands of users are concerned. You will need excellent communications skills.

Salary will depend on your abilities and experience, and includes health insurance and two weeks paid vacation. We have a 401K plan. Our office is in NYC at 134 West 29th St., convenient to transportation.

Please respond with an ascii version of your resume to resumes+sysadmin@panix.com. with "sysadmin job" in the subject line. Please, don't send us postscript or HTML; content and not appearance is the key. We do not want paper mail, faxes, or phone calls.
