Party Music was founded at Columbia University in 1978. Our goal is to provide the best music at the most reasonable prices. We are full-time (no day job) DJs. You can call for an appointment or visit us at our Riverside Drive studio.

You Can Pay More, But You Won't Find a Better DJ

By keeping our prices reasonable we can book twice as many parties as other DJs. This makes us better DJs because experience is the best teacher. We have performed at thousands of parties for middle-of-the-road people like you, your family, and your friends. We know that music the best.

Good Equipment and Careful Planning Ensure Great Parties

EQUIPMENT - We use the best DJ equipment money can buy and we always bring back-up equipment. The show must go on and our equipment has never failed us.

Party Music will bring over $10,000 in sound equipment, lighting, and programming to your party. We can go to more than 200 parties with one set of equipment. This means our equipment cost per party is around $50. Great equipment does not mean high prices for parties.

PLANNING - Careful planning means choosing the music you'll play ahead of time. We will ask you to ask your guests what their favorite songs are. For a wedding we will help you put together a list of the music you like. Your friends and family will be very impressed when you ask them for their favorites. In 4 hours a DJ might play 75 songs; we'll be glad to help you pick each one. Our music library has tens of thousands of CDs and records, and with Internet downloads there is no song we can't get. Check out our play list. We will also respect your "don't play" and "must play" lists, meticulously.
