This is a picture taken from the Hubble space telescope. My cousin Karl is an astronomer on the WFPC2 (Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2) team at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and he's taken pictures with this gadget. Some of them are on JPL's site.

I used to see Elaine Wilson (aka Closr2fine) on Delphi a lot, over at the Delphi Trivia Club. She still hasn't told me what the guy in the background of this photo is doing.

Zeke Hecker and his family are some of my favorite people in the world, but Zeke's the only one with a web page. Here it is. They've hosted a terrific New Year's Eve party for more years than any of us cares to count.
