Heat oil. Add some of: (cinnamon, cardamom, cloves), or (cumin and coriander), and turmeric and maybe onion. Cook for a while over low heat until onions turn translucent. Add summer squash. Cook for a while longer until squash are soft but not yet falling apart (well, it's ok if they fall apart). Heat more oil. Crumble hops into oil. Stir briefly, then pour over squash.
