The Chronicles of Justin Thyme

or

Avery's Gallery of Ideas

The Chronicles of Justin Thyme has been a project of mine for at least a year now, but I haven't until now quite gotten around to doing any of the legwork.

Perhaps I should begin with a short explanation of what the Chronicles of Justin Thyme are supposed to be, and how I came up with such a peculiar name for it.

Who is Justin Thyme?

Actually, Justin Thyme is not really a person... he's a collective entity representing all of the areas of knowledge usually hedged out of the arena of intellectual inquiry (for lack of a better term). To clarify -- modern academia is leaving a whole lot of stuff out of the curriculum. It was my vision, originally, to create a periodical out of whatever submissions I could coax out of my friends and aquaintances; articles and non-text-based works on whatever subjects they know best. For example, I'm going to put Ruth's thesis in here somewhere. Also on the top of the list is Avi Lewis' essay for his applications to Medical School.

Of course, this has proven impractical. What with my constrained time, and most of all, my lack of material, the best I could do would be to collect submissions until I had enough to publish, and then wait again. The project has been lying by the wayside for quite some time. Finally my friend Crash pointed out to me how useful the WWW might be for this venture.

So there's a brief synopsis of what's in the Chronicles of Justin Thyme.
