*Mirage
*Mirage was a desert-bred stallion who had been purchased for the Crabbet Stud in 1923 by Lady Wentworth. Unfortunately, the General Stud Book in England had just been closed to new imported Arabian horses, and she was unable to register him. He was sold in 1930 to Roger Selby, who had no such difficulties in the United States.
*Mirage's son Image, out of the imported Crabbet mare *Rifala, has been tremendously influential in American arabian horse breeding.
