Selma II |
Seyal was by the great stallion Mesaoud, out of Sobha. Selma II was by Ahmar, and also out of Sobha. This mare founded a line that has influenced arabian horse breeding in every country on Earth. Fable Bint Ylla is Hamdanieh Simrieh, going to Sobha in her tail female line.
Sobha was a Hamdanieh Simrieh foaled in 1879. Her dam was the Hamdanieh Simrieh (called Selma) from the Abbas Pasha Stud. Her sire was Wazir, a white Seglawi Jedran of Ibn Sudan's strain, bred by Ali Pasha Sherif. She was purchased by Wilfrid and Lady Anne Blunt in 1891, and was one of the foundation mares of the Crabbet Stud.
