Well, I didn't have the time to try several cake recipes ("chocolate" and
"moist" were what I had to go on), so I decided to be lazy and make a
brownie cake. Two 13x9 layers of fudge brownies with chocolate chips mixed
in, "glued" together with some intense chocolate icing (although not
terrible, I would probably not use that recipe again), and then some funky
Halloween frosting that was actually kind of scary, because it was more the
color of salmon paper than a true Halloween orange. With the nifty little
bats and sprinkles all over the frosting. And we used up some leftover
Halloween candy to make it a "bar" cake. Arthur's father made a banner to
go with this that said "But can you pass the chocolate bar?" We had problems finding paper plates
that didn't have big pink flowers on them (and we all know *just* *how*
*fluffy* Colin is!) and so
were toying with the idea of getting the Barbie ones 'cause, well, they
were the only ones we could find that had "BAR" on them.
He owes Beth a big THANKS for
saving him from such a fate ;)
Needless to say, you can now understand why FJ!! was afraid it would kill
people.
I still say this cake had nuthin' on one of Shirley's.
