Loligo Formosansa (Splendid Squid)

Splendid Squid Characteristics
Large loliginid commercially important for Southeast Asia. In Thailand, they are called pla muek kluai (banana squid) ปลาหมึกกล้วย. Fin rhombic with straight posterior margin. Arm sucker rings with about 10 sharp, conical teeth on distal margin. Tentacular sucker rings also with sharp, conical teeth, about 30 in number. L. formosana and L. etheridgei are synonyms.
