Servings: 4 servings, 2 burgers each
Salsa mixed with ground beef makes a moist, spicy hamburger.
⅓ cup LAND O LAKES® sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
1 pound lean ground beef
¼ cup hot thick and chunky salsa
¾ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
4 1 ounce slices LAND O LAKES® Deli American Cheese, each cut into fourths
8 3 inch dollar-size buns, split
8 slices Roma tomato
8 leaf lettuce leaves
Heat gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.
Combine sour cream and cilantro in small bowl. Cover; refrigerate until serving time.
Combine ground beef, salsa, salt and pepper in large bowl. Shape into 8 small patties. Place onto grill. Grill, turning occasionally, until internal temperature reaches at least 160°F, or until meat is no longer pink in center, about 8 to 10 minutes. Top each burger with 2 pieces cheese; let melt slightly.
Place burgers onto bottom bun half. Top each with 1 teaspoon sour cream mixture, 1 slice tomato, 1 lettuce leaf and top bun half.
