This is not a firehouse hot type of chili. Of course you could make it into that if you desire... I usually double this recipe and add more chili powder to make it hotter and serve it with hot crushed peppers or hot sauces. My older relatives appreciate the mild version.

1 ½ pounds beef
2 tablespoon oil
1 ½ cup onions chopped
2 tablespoon garlic crushed
1 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt table
16 ounces tomatoes
16 ounces beans
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Heat oil in large pot and sautee onion and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes. Add beef cook for 5 minutes longer, stirring often. Add rest of the ingredients, mix thoroughly, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until thick. Stir often.
