Recipe from: Louise Austin
This recipe is from my aunt, Louise Austin, from the cookbook, What's Cooking with FLO?, favorite bayou country recipes of FLO (For Ladies Only) from the First Baptist Church in Napoleonville, Louisiana published in 1990.
whole mushrooms
finely chopped onions
1 finely chopped garlic toe
little bit of white wine
seasoned bread crumbs
butter
oil for frying
Chop stems of mushrooms. Mix them with the onions and garlic. Sauté in a little butter. Add a little wine and let cook a minute. Add seasoned bread crumbs. Mix all this together and stuff in mushroom caps. Dip in melted butter, and roll in dry bread crumbs and deep-fry until golden.
