Montanari are the people who live in the mountains, kind of the hillbillies of Italy.
Peas (you can use frozen)
cooked ham (not in slices, a nice chunk will do)
mushrooms (any kind will do, but I recommend champignons, it's a bit of a waste to use good mushrooms for this sauce)
cream (thick)
butter
Put butter in a frying pan, and when melted add ham and finely sliced mushrooms, until mushrooms are cooked but still firm. Add peas and cream, pepper (no need for salt, as the ham is already salty) Keep on the flame for 4-5 mins, without letting the cream boil. That's it...
