Swedish Mashed Potatoes

Servings: 4 to 6

1 pound yellow turnips, cubed
1 ½ pounds white potatoes, peeled and cubed
⅛ teaspoon white pepper
⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
butter or margarine

Cook turnips in salted water until almost tender. Add potatoes and cook until potatoes are soft. Drain. Add spices. Mash. (Add milk or pareve milk if necessary for softer consistency.) Serve garnished with butter.
