Nam Takrai (Lemongrass Juice) น้ำตะไคร

2 cups lemongrass, finely sliced
1 cup lemongrass leaves, finely chopped
1 cup sugar
5 cups water

Boil the water with the sliced lemongrass. Let it boil until the water turns yellow. Remove from heat and pour through a filter to separate the lemongrass. In a blender, blend the chopped lemongrass leave with ½ cup of water. Pour through the filter to separate the leaves. This makes the condensed lemongrass juice. Boil the lemongrass juice from the sliced lemongrass again. Add sugar and let it boil until dissolved well. Add the condensed lemongrass juice. Stir and remove from heat.

It could be either as a hot or cold drink.
