1 teaspoon shrimp paste
10 cloves garlic
10 red shallots
10 phrik ki nu
1 cup pound dried shrimp
1 tablespoon nam pla
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons tamarind water
Toast or dry roast shrimp paste, garlic, shallots and phrik ki nu, then pound them together to make a fine paste. Add dried shrimp and mix well. Heat 10 tablespoons of cooking oil and stir fry the paste until fragrant. Add nam pla, sugar and tamarind water. Continue to fry until well mixed and slightly reduced.
