Specimens are notes produced by the security printer as examples of the final product. They are typically printed in relatively small numbers and distributed to financial institutions and law enforcement agencies to familiarize them with the notes. To prevent them from being used as legal tender, they are commonly overprinted, perforated, or punched. Whenever a specimen has been confirmed, it is described in detail (most specimens have all-zero serial numbers unless otherwise noted).
