• Backdrop Plus
  Backdrop Plus is an alternative to the NotePad as the backdrop, or background, application for the Newton. With the NotePad closed, you save as much as 10k in heap (similar to RAM on a desktop machine.) This means that you can have more extensions and applications loaded at once, and you will get fewer memory-related problems and restarts. -- Shareware

  OneTap New is a backdrop button that allows access to a full New menu. Create new documents for Notes, Dates, Names, Calls, and Newton Works with OneTap. Perfect for use with a low-heap backdrop application. -- Shareware
• Personal Media
  Provides workspaces with paperlike notepads for handwritten notes. Workspaces that you create and name on the fly are a great way of organizing projects, clients or other tasks. E-mail is also integral to Personal Media.
