Essentially a two-hour episode of the series with better production values, it's certainly watchable enough. But it focuses on the ongoing conspiracy plot arc - easily the weakest part of the show. (For my money, the best episodes are the standalones like "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" and "Beyond the Sea"). And that arc has gotten so strained with half-answers that it comes across as ludicrous BS. It doesn't help that whatever Chris Carter's strengths, he can't write "emotional" dialogue that doesn't sound cornball or trite. Personal note : I really, really hope Darin Morgan writes the next one...
