The Deep End of the Ocean - C

The Deep End of The Ocean tries so hard to be a Quality Production that it smothers any real feeling out. Every character acts like a damn saint, which pretty much ruins the chance of any emotion getting through. And as Jonathan Rosenbaum pointed out, it suffers from being a star vehicle -- the focus in the second half should clearly be on Ben/Sam, but since Pfeiffer also produced the film the film tries to cover both her and his story, and fails to do justice to either.
