Guinevere - B-

Yes, I know I gave it a B originally. However, on retrospect,
I can't think of anything that justifies that high a grade. The
film's rather forgettable, unfortunately. But here's what I do
remember.
- Mawkish ending; even Polley's sardonic voiceover during this
scene can't make a dent in its stickiness.
- Fine acting from both Sarah Polley and Stephen Rea, who's
far more sympathetic in this role that he has any earthly right
to be. It's surprising that Wells is this gentle toward a
character who's a certified sleazeball.
- The film's essentially over by the halfway point when Polley
realizes Rea is a serial monogamist of young ladies; the rest of
the film just drags on to the finish.
