Subject: Re: Signal at Routes 9 & 448

Dear Ms Kuinlan:

It was nice speaking with you a moment ago. Thanks again for putting in
motion the crew that will install indicator signs for the pedestrian
buttons and repair the countdown timer for pedestrians heading south
across Beekman Ave.

Here's the diagram of the proposed additional pedestrian intervals I
mentioned:
http://www.panix.com/~danielc/sleepy-hollow/broadway-beekman-signal-fixes.jpg

I appreciate your setting up a review of those timings. These revisions
will increase safety across Bedford Rd and reduce jaywalking across
Brodway at Beekman Ave. If anyone has any questions or want feedback
during a site visit, don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Looking forward to receiving the citation for the DOT's policy guidelines
for signal vehicle detectors not being required to sense bicycles.
Perhaps the guidelines have warrants for when cyclists should be
observed? Either way, it'd be great if these senors can be adjusted or
changed so cyclists in this ideal cycling neighborhood can safely
traverse this complicated intersection.

Thank you again,

--Dan
