Subject: broadway intersection improvements

Hi Anthony:

I've been drafting engineering diagrams for improving safety at our
Village's three main intersections along Broadway. I've shown earlier,
incomplete, drafts to Ken, Glenn and John (all cc'ed here). The
drawings have gotten to a point where I feel confident releasing these
proposals to the public.

Please take a look at the "Broadway Intersection Improvements" section of
http://www.panix.com/~danielc/sleepy-hollow/

Considering the saga of the streetscape project, make sure you and Fiona
are sitting down before checking them out. :) Getting these proposals
discussed, refined, funded and implemented will be a LONG haul. The
effort will be worth it, enhancing our Village's walkability and safety.

When I showed the earlier drafts to Ken a month or two ago, he expressed
interest and felt the ideas would be good as part of the Village master
plan he wants to have assembled.

Keep in mind, the neckdowns can be constructed in two ways or phases.
First, a quick, cheap, experimental implementation with bollards and
paint. Second, (once kinks are worked out) with concrete and
landscaping.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Let me know what I can do to
help.

Thanks,

--Dan
