Planetary and Lunar Elongation CalendarA planetary and lunar elongation calendar is a chart which shows the elongation (angular distance) of the Moon and planets from the Sun for each day of a year. Specifically, it shows the angular distance and direction from the Sun of the naked-eye planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) and the Moon. It provides a quick and easy way to determine the visibility of these celestial objects. Fill in the form below the line with the year, which hemisphere you are observing from, and whether you want a grayscale or color version. When you submit this form, you'll receive the chart as a PDF file. You'll need the free Acrobat Reader to display and print it.
