The mission of Maristella is to
promote self-sufficiency of homeless women and mothers with children in
Lake County, Illinois, by providing assistance with finding safe, clean,
affordable housing and providing rent subsidies and other support services.
Maristella
Maristella is a ministry organization which helps prevent
homelessness by providing assistance with:
- Rent subsidy
- Security deposits
- Near evictions
Maristella serves families from transitional shelters such
as The Samaritan House, The Safe Place and Staben House. All families
are welcome at Maristella!
Maristella cooperates with other agencies to provide more
efficient care for the client. We encourage our families to participate
in self-sufficiency programs of Catholic Charities and The Community
Action Project (CAP) of Lake County.
Maristella's clients participate in classes at the College
of Lake County (CLC) and CAP, completing their GED program and
particapting in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.
Maristella is here to assist families with food, clothing
and household goods. Upon entering a new apartment,
Maristella assists the family through our unique Shower
Ministry, Jump Start.

Maristella. There are many opportunities to expand
your talents and help others at the same time. We
need you!
