The mission of Maristella is to
promote self-sufficiency of homeless women and mothers with children in
Lake County, Illinois, by providing assistance with finding safe, clean,
affordable housing and providing rent subsidies and educational services.

Since 1998, Maristella Ministry has served more than 4000 families
in Lake County, Illinois.
Maristella is a ministry to prevent
homelessness by providing housing assistance and life skills
training, rent subsidies, security deposits, hotel vouchers,
emergency food and clothing, employment, apartment location
assistance and educational services.
Maristella provides emergency and short term assistance.
Maristella serves families from houses such as
The Samaritan House, The Safe Place and Staben House. We encourage
our clients to participate in self-sufficiency programs when available.
All families are welcome at Maristella!
Maristella partners with other social service agencies
to provide effective comprehensive services to our clients.

Maristella's clients participate in classes and workshops
at the College of Lake County (CLC) and other continuing educational
programs, completing their GED program and particapting in English
as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Our families are encouraged to
donate time volunteering at other organizations.
Maristella is here to assist families with food, clothing
