Tick Tock Toys - Archives and Galleries

A collection of galleries of images from the mid-twentieth century. Mostly commercial art, such as a gallery of gumball machine cards -- the labels in front of the product that tell you what it is and try to entice you to buy it; and scans from a 1949 candy salesman book, even then Necco was able to claim more than 100 years of candy making. Interesting retro images.

Photography: Soulcatcher Studio: Karl Blossfeldt Photogravures

"Karl Blossfeldt (1865-1932) was a German instructor of sculpture who used his remarkable photographs of plant studies to educate his students about design in nature. Self-taught in photography, he devoted himself to the study of nature, photographing nothing but plants for thirty-five years."
Many of the photos show plants resembling architectural elements.

NYC graffiti stickers 1992-1995

From the Nonist, a collection of stickers found on the streets of New York in the early nineties. The image of granny with the tommy gun is one I found and incorporated into a piece of art myself around the same time. I cannot remember where I found that image, though.
