Apple doesn't have the manpower to write everything itself, but is
encouraging third-parties to write Newton tools. At Tuesday's Snug meeting,
Walter Smith, the inventor of NewtonScript, announced a mailing list for
people writing third-party NewtonScript compilers. (Send mail to
tools@newton.apple.com for information.) Brad Eacker of SGI has written
a Newton Package Describer that runs under UNIX; see my home page.
