Ditto for me, the "net test" app failed to work. However, read on!

I am getting it to work correctly on my 120 with the beta NewtsCape.
Here's the deal.

0) install NIE stuff internally, NewtsCape on 2mb card - internal has
400kb free, card 600kb.

1) freeze everything - and I mean everything - except for NIE stuff and
NewtsCape

2) reset - heap's at 70kb - looking good.

3) connect via external 14.4 modem, basic ISP setup for PPP.

4) works like a champ! I'm browsing the web. Heh. Cool.

I've been beta testing as well, and the release version seems to be pretty
sensitive to low heap. On a 130 that's not likely to happen, but on a 120
you'll want to free up as much as possible. I'm waiting for any official
statement of the status on the 120 - AllPen claims it's not yet "fully
compatible" in their NetHopper PR, yet I am using it ;)

The update is supposed to be 1.1 and due in a couple of weeks. The change
is supposed to be "one line" having to do with the memory configuration
differences in the two models. They apparently know what they are doing
and just ran into the Expo pr/ship deadline. So everyone can probably save
themselves some "bug report" messages... Netehopper, for example, was just
making sure that they were very clear with purchasers, placing a "For 130"
sticker on their shrinkwrap packages because it ships with the current NIE
included.
