Buckethead Videos

Hey everyone, Nice to meet you all at the Petaluma and San Francisco shows on February 23 and 25. Glad to share our Buckethead pix and videos with you.

San Francisco, Great American Music Hall, February 25

We've uploaded some of the movies from the San Francisco show to the Internet Archive. The link to those movies is here:

Buckethead at Great American Music Hall, San Francisco USA, 2/25/06 with Pinchface and Delray Brewer.

The movies are 12 parts that total about 60 mins. The images are dark because of course the stage was really dark, but the sound is there and that's what matters. We suggest downloading (right-click for Windows, control-click for Mac) instead of playing from the site.

We've also put two other, shorter movies from that night online. These were taken with a different camera and we got slightly better results with the second camera for these two sections. However the second camera shot vertical, so the movies turned out sideways. Live and learn. The longer of the two was put on the Internet Archive here: BucketheadKidBeyond022506.

The shorter of the two was put on youtube.com (because youtube is an easier upload for files 100MB and smaller): Buckethead/Jowls Feb. 25 2006.

Oh, and here's the best picture we could get of the set list of this show:

Petaluma, Mystic Theater, February 23 2006

We've uploaded our one short video from the Petaluma show to youtube.com. It's here: Buckethead in Petaluma

Of related interest...

I (Megan) reviewed a Buckethead show in a webzine in 1998. Here's the review, it's still online: Buckethead Live at the Hotel Utah.

I also mentioned Buckethead briefly (2 paragraphs) in an essay I wrote that was published in a book in December of 05. The book is The Work of Art in the Age of Digital Reproduction, edited by Kathleen Quillian, published as a fundraising item for the San Francisco community art gallery Artists Television Access.

Streetlight Records, May 6, 2004

video clips from the Streetlight Records show are below. Please don't be disappointed, these are teeny clips (just a few seconds each), but they benefit from the fact that we were just inches away from him as we were shooting. Big Sur Moon is the best one. They're on youtube.com, as follows:

  • riffing (5 seconds)
  • doing robotics (4 seconds)
  • Night of the Slunk fragment (6 seconds)
  • Big Sur Moon fragment (11 seconds)
