Greetings,
Here's the information we found on the name "Dulcia MacPherson."
There are examples of "Dulcia" in a number of languages. The name is more common in Romance languages but there is one example in English, where it's used as a Latinate form of the name "Douce" (a Middle English word for "sweet.") However, we didn't find any evidence for it as a name at any time in Scotland.
"MacPherson" is a Scots spelling of a Gaelic byname meaning "son of the parson." Although it's used as a surname by men and women today without regard to its original meaning, in period it was still used as a descriptive name.
"Dulcia" is a historical name, but not a historical Scottish name. The question, then, is what kind of persona you're interested in. You didn't select a preference in your letter to us and you said you'd be willing to change MacPherson if necessary--what time and place would you like us to investigate? We would like to be of further assistance.
