Greetings,

Here are our comments on the name "Maeve nhic Domnaill." Your name is basically correct, but we were able to make a couple of suggestions.

"Maeve" is an Anglicized form of the Gaelic name "Medb" or "Medhbh." Since your persona lives before the English invasion of Ireland, you should use one of the Irish spellings (the pronunciation is basically the same). "Domnaill" is using the Gaelic spelling, and is in the correct form.

We're assuming that "nic" is intended to mean "daughter of." In fact, "nic" is contraction of "ingen mhic," which means "daughter of the son of." It was used in Irish names, but if you want to be "Mebh, daughter of Domnall" the correct form is "Medb ingen Domnaill."

Effric neyn Kenyeoch vc Ralte researched your name.

We hope this has been helpful. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

In service,
Alan Fairfax
