ACADEMY OF SAINT GABRIEL REPORT 1741 http://www.s-gabriel.org/1741 ************************************ 18 May 1999 From: (Josh Mittleman) Greetings from the Academy of Saint Gabriel! You asked whether was used in late 14th century England. Here's what we've found. The name was apparently very, very rare in your period. We found only one 14th century example of the name, recorded as in 1303 [1]. We have looked through several thousand names in late 14th century English tax rolls and have not found any other example of the name [2]. The next example we can find was a man 1445, whose father or grandfather was apparently named [3]. We hope this brief letter has been useful. Please write us again if you have any questions. I was assisted in researching and writing this letter by Talan Gwynek and Walraven van Nijmegen.
