ACADEMY OF SAINT GABRIEL REPORT 2203 http://www.s-gabriel.org/2203 ************************************ 7 Dec 2000 From: (Josh Mittleman) Greetings from the Academy of Saint Gabriel! You asked us to suggest designs for arms appropriate to a 16th century Frenchman, using black wolves on a white background. This letter is a brief answer to your question. Based on our knowledge of late-period French heraldry [1] and the two sets of designs we've previously discussed with you [2], we have created some designs for you to consider: Argent, three wolves rampant sable. Argent, a wolf rampant and a chief sable. Argent, a wolf rampant sable between three fleurs-de-lys gules. As far as we can tell, you could register any of these designs with the SCA College of Arms. We hope this brief letter has been useful. Please write us again if you have any questions. I was assisted in researching and writing this letter by Zenobia Naphtali, Modar Neznanich, Julie Stampnitzky, Aryanhwy merch Catmael, and Ysfael ap Briafael.
