Greetings,

Here's the information we found on the name "Linden of Corleis Arche."

We found no evidence that "Linden" was used as the name of any person in the Middle Ages. We did find that "Linden" was a place-name meaning "hill with lime trees" ("lime" is the name of an English tree which is not related to the citrus fruit). It wasn't used as a woman's name until the 1840's. (1)

As far as we know, "Corleis Arche" doesn't fit the patterns for medieval place-names. However, since we don't know what your source for the name is, we can't make any kind of definite statement. If you found a medieval source for this name, we would be very interested to see it.

Arval D'Espas Nord and Tangwystl verch Morgant Glasvryn contributed to this letter.

We hope this has been helpful, and that we can continue working with you.

In service,
Alan Fairfax
