Here's the information we found on your proposed Byzantine name, "Sebastian the Prodigal."
We don't have many sources for Byzantine names, but we did find an article which lists the name "Sebastos." (1) Although he doesn't give details, it's reasonable to presume that "Sebastos" is the original Greek form of the name "Sebastian," and we recommend that you use it.
"Prodigal" is an English word which was first used in the late 1400's. The Greek word in the Bible which is translated as "prodigal" probably wasn't used as a name. Although we have limited information on Byzantine names, we'd suggest looking for a second name which might have been used by an actual Byzantine person.
