Greetings,

Here's the information we found on your proposed name "Gustavef," from the 10th century.

We did an search for "Gustavef" and didn't find it in any country in Central or Eastern Europe. We did find the Swedish name "Góstaff," which had many spelling variants including "Gustaef," "Gustaev," and a rare variant "Gustaver." "Gustavef" isn't found as a variant of this name.

Our records for Central and Eastern Europe during the period you're interested in aren't complete, but wqe have no reason to believe that "Gustavef" would be a name from this period or any other. "Gustaf" apparently derives from a Germanic name (2), so it would be possible that a German person could have had this name.

Lindorm Eriksson and Tangwystl verch Morgant Glasvryn contributed to this letter.

We hope this has been helpful. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

In service,
Alan Fairfax
