Greetings,

Here's the information we found on the name "Adrian Vaeltaja." We apologize for the delay in sending this letter to you.

"Adrian" was the name of several popes, and is common in many languages. We weren't sure exactly what culture your persona came from, but since he's a Hanseatic guard we assumed that you're interested in a German name. It appears that "Adrian" is the standard German form of this name. "Adrian" would also be a reasonable name for a Swedish or Finnish persona.

Names meaning "traveller" are very common in the SCA, but were very rare in the Middle Ages. People were often given names based on their occupations, but travelling, by itself, is not an occupation. We recommend that you find a name based on a German word for "guard" or "mercenary" and use that.

We checked your desired arms against registered SCA arms and found that "Argent, a wyvern gules" (a red wyvern on white) does not conflict with anything. We suggest that you continue using it.

Lindorm Eriksson, Jaelle of Armida, Zenobia Naphtali, Tangwystl verch Morgant Glasvryn, and Arval Benicouer contributed to this letter.

We hope this has been helpful, and that we can continue to assist you.

In service,
Alan Fairfax
