ACADEMY OF SAINT GABRIEL REPORT 2894 http://www.s-gabriel.org/2894 ************************************ Date: Wed, 20 May 2004 From: Arval Greetings from the Academy of Saint Gabriel! As you know from the note you've already received, the Academy is not currently accepting new questions. However, one of our members did a bit a research on the nanme , so we'll send you that information. We found no evidence that the name existed before the late 19th century, nor that it was in use outside the United States. A search at google.com turns up several genealogical websites with examples of the name int he southern United States, ranging from the 1880s to the 1910s, plus one modern example. The name is not mentioned in our standard name references. Without further evidence, we would recommend strongly against using the name as part of any medieval re-creation.
