Greetings from the Academy of S. Gabriel!

You asked for help constructing a name for a fictional castle that
would be appropriate for France in the late 13th century.  Here is
what we have found.

We compiled a list of castles that were mentioned in Troubadour lyrics
from the 12th and 13th centuries.  You can find this list, with
accompanying notes on the etymological roots of the names at:

Based on these, we can recommend names that involve some physical
description of the castle, either in terms of its construction, its
location, or its purpose, as well as names that use a personal name,
following the examples of <Babo>, <Martel>, <Polinha> or <Polomnhac>,
and <Rocaberti>.
