Here is the information we found on your Scottish Gaelic name, "Catriona the Boisterous."
The usual spelling of this name is "Caitríona" or "Caiterína," both of which are pronounced "ka-TREE-na." (1) All of these are Gaelic forms of the name "Catherine." (In these examples, "í" represents an i with an accent mark). The common SCA pronunciation "kat-ree-ON-a" is not correct.
"Boisterous" is not a likely byname in any language. Bynames almost always used simpler words like "tall," "red," "brave," and so on. We didn't find a medieval Gaelic word for "boisterous."
Most Gaelic bynames were patronymics--that is, they referred to a person's father. When descriptive terms were used, they were generally simple words that referred to a person's physical characteristics. We would recommend using a patronymic. The usual form of one of these names in Scotland is "inghean <father's name>."
