Here's the information we found on your 14th-century Welsh name "Brynach ap Caerwyn."
Unfotunately, we found no evidence that either "Brynach" or "Caerwyn" were used in the Middle Ages.
"Brynach" is the name of a saint who came to Wales from Ireland. "Brynach" does appear to be a Welsh rendering of an Irish name, and it appears that "Brynach" was never used as a name by Welsh-speaking people.
We found no examples of "Caerwyn" in anything from Wales in period. The only "Caerwyn" we found was a contemporary Welsh scholar, J.E. Caerwyn Williams.
