Here's the information we found on the English last name "Spurlock."

We aren't sure of the origin of this name. It could come from "sparrow-lake" (which would be "spearwa lacu" in Old English), but it would be a pretty unusual chain.

Whatever the origin of the name, we found a late-period example of "Spurlock" in the Web page you mentioned. (1)
