Greetings,

Here's the information we were able to find about "Nightfarer," which you'd like to use as an Old Norse byname.

The word you're looking for is "náttfari" (the "á" represents an accented "a"). Not every word was used as a name, but we have evidence that "n/attfari" was used as a descriptive byname in Old Norse. (1)

In order to construct a complete name for your persona, you'll need to choose an Old Norse given name. One very good source for finding Old Norse given names is Geirr bassi Haraldsson, "The Old Norse Name", which many Society heralds own. If you need help finding a given name, let us know what kind of name you're looking for and we'll see what we can find.

Talan Gwynek, Hartmann Rogge, Arval Benicoeur, and Tangwystl verch Morgant Glasvryn contributed to this letter.

We hope this has been helpful, and that we can continue to assist you.

In service,
Alan Fairfax
