Greetings,

Here's the information we can give you on your suggested arms, "Sable mulletty argent, in chief a jousting lance and in base a horse courant Or."

We suggest a small change in your design. The free-floating lance in chief is rather unusual by the standards of medieval heraldic style. It would be much more typical of medieval armory to have the lance held by a mounted person. So we suggest that you consider "Sable mullety argent, a horse courant with a rider couching a lance Or." These arms would be a very fine piece of medieval re-creation.

We checked this design and the one you suggested for conflict, and we didn't find anything that would conflict with either of them.

Rouland Carre, Arval Benicoeur, and Talan Gwynek contributed to this letter.

We hope this has been helpful, and that we can continue to assist you.

In service,
Alan Fairfax
