You asked for our opinion of "Fia" as a 14th century Scottish name. Here is what we have found.
We have not been able to find any reference to this name. The most similar name that we found is "Fiadnat", pronounced \FEE-ah-nahtch\, an early Irish name [1]. We don't know if this name was used in Scotland; Irish and Scottish Gaelic shared many names, so it is possible that this name made the crossing, but not certain. We also don't know if "Fiadnat" remained in use into the 14th century; our sources aren't sufficiently detailed to tell us.
