The animation to the right shows a 3D reconstruction of an impacted target from the 1992 campaign. The sphere is 21cm in diameter and made of alumina cement, impacted from below using a contact charge. The trajectories shown are those of all fragments identified in 3D in this shot. Each trajectory has a cross marked on it, indicating the point at which it is recognised in both cameras (below this point the trajectory is based upon a parabolic fit to the known 3D points). |

This example was generated using an older version of the data reduction software, which was based upn a relatively simple geometry model. This simple model, which takes advantage of symmetries in the camera arrangement, is unsuitable for generalised camera positions as required for the AVGR 1996 analysis. The latest model is completely generalised and allows us to use any camera arrangement, but requires more work before the data can be reduced to the type of 3D map shown here.
