The Logistic Map
The Logistic Map arises from a very simple relationship.
It is based on a population model, where the model itself
has one parameter, conventionally denoted lambda:
This is an iterative process, which means that each
step, you feed the value back into the equation, as you can see
from the subscript on the y. The value
of y then follows a trajectory which may converge
to a stable value, or it may go off to infinity, or it might
fall into a pattern of one or more points called a limit cycle.
