| Many of us are familiar
with the Saturn cycle written about by Grant Lewi.
The Saturn Return Chart is a nice complement to the cycle of transiting Saturn to the natal chart. The chart can indicate the basic issues and path, relating to career, or general life developments over the course of an entire Saturn cycle. With a Venus Neptune conjunction in the 7th house of my precessed Saturn return, clerical contracting work proved to be a serious (in Capricorn) disappointment. With the ruler of the Venus Neptune conjunction in the 6th, the message might be that contracts involving Venus Neptune types of things have much more potential for success when it comes to earning a living, especially since Pluto, the modern ruler of the chart's 6th house, sextiles the Venus Neptune conjunction, with Neptune the modern ruler of the chart's 10th house. With Saturn conjunct Uranus in the precessed chart's 6th house, I am urged to combine structure with independence, which is what I want. It also shows the lasting growth of my interest in astrology as a part of my daily life. And with a full Moon across the 3rd and 9th houses of the chart, in respective trine and sextile to the Saturn Uranus conjunction, reading, writing, talking and thinking astrologically have become second nature. And Jupiter, in square to Uranus and the Descendant, maybe indicates I do this to excess. Saturn in square to the Pisces Mercury/Jupiter midpoint in the chart's 10th house urges me to combine wishful thinking with practicality. The chart indicates ways for me to "follow my path" which echo certain natal indications, and it shows the likely times of success in reaching my goals by knowing when certain aspects will receive supportive transits of Saturn. The transits of Saturn to the chart mark passages of ease or difficulty along the way. It's interesting to notice that my job seemed increasingly impossible to deal with anymore as transiting Saturn opposed the chart's Pluto, the ruler of the chart's 6th house. The 6th house cusp itself is opposite my natal Mars in the Placidus House System! Saturn seems to be urging me to let go of a false path and try something that is more suited for what I can reasonably hope to do with my natal potential. Every transit of Saturn to a planet in the return chart has corresponded to a turn in the road. The angles of the precessed chart are also interesting. The Midheaven is my natal Mars/Saturn midpoint, which very often shows up at times of stress or challenge, but the Ascendant is trine my natal Jupiter which might be Saturn's way of saying it won't be *that* bad, and keep your spirits up! The unprecessed chart has some very different aspects involving the Moon, and both charts are interesting to study and compare. The Saturn Return Chart might be
especially valuable for people like myself with relatively hard-to-access
natal Saturns (mine is Rx in my 12th). It can help us develop
Commonly, there will be three Saturn Return Charts; the first chart with Saturn in direct motion, the second with Saturn in retrograde motion, and a third with Saturn once again in direct motion. Which to use? Check them all out and see what *you* think. I'd thought the final chart was the most significant, but since then decided on the very first return chart in direct motion.
